Individual Therapy

Individual therapy involves regular one-on-one sessions involving face-to-face contact with struggling individuals seeking improvement in some area of their lives. I’m passionate about my work and those with whom I work. I envision my role as a change agent possessing the necessary tools to help your progression.

My approach to treatment is strength-based and solution-focused. While I encourage active collaboration on the part of my clients, you will also see me play an equally active role as your therapist. In order to bring comfort and reduce client-distress, I may use supportive counseling approaches through reflective listening, motivational interviewing and other emotion-focused strategies. Often, psychoeducation is necessary to provide clients and their families information about a specific mental health diagnoses, symptom management, and crisis intervention/response. Psychoeducation is also used to teach appropriate skills in the areas of coping, anger management, communication, assertiveness, self-advocacy and effective problem solving. These are just a few of the tools at my disposal to help restore a more fulfilling healthy and balanced life.

In the end, my goal is to help you get to the place you want to be. Consequently, I will meet you, the client, where you are rather than where I want or think you should be, because ultimately this is your treatment, not mine.
